Glass Slipper
Ball Event Goes National after Three Year Success in Pittsburgh
and With National Sponsors Tums and Oscal.
"The
Glass Slipper Ball featuring the Best of the Chefs " debuted
in the North Hills of Pittsburgh in 2004 and has now gone national.
The first replication was recently held in Houston, Texas and
was heralded as a great success. More than 300 attendees enjoyed
signature hors d'oeuvres and desserts from 20 of Houston's top
chefs. Over $17,000 was raised for local Houston women's agencies,
as well as for Zonta International projects worldwide. Houston
Chairperson Kayleen Kill commented, "The 'wow factor' with
this event was very exciting and made the entire club really proud
of their efforts."
The event is produced by Zonta, an international women's service
organization in partnership with Team Effort Events, and Glass
Slipper Ball creator Debra Dion Krischke of Pittsburgh. As a member
of Zonta and veteran special events professional, Dion Krischke
developed the Ball to raise much needed awareness and funds for
Zonta. Since its Pittsburgh debut three years ago, it has sold-out
each year and generated over $160,000 for scholarships.
"With the Glass Slipper Ball, Zonta clubs around the country
now have the opportunity to create a spectacular event that combines
a great time with a great cause," Dion Krischke said. "Many
clubs struggle with fundraising but now they don't have to. Team
Effort Events has taken a proven event and packaged it so a club
has a turnkey solution that includes the support of skilled event
planners."
Pittsburgh Glass Slipper Ball sponsors Tums and Oscal recently
agreed to become the event's national sponsors and present the
Ball in other cities. Events for 2007 include Colorado Springs,
January 20, 2007 followed by Pittsburgh, February 24, 2007.
According to Tums spokesperson Jennifer Davidson, "We are
thrilled to be able to support The Glass Slipper Ball nationally.
Our products have great brand awareness among women and we want
to be sure we help them support issues important to them. Zonta's
Glass Slipper Ball is a perfect fit because the money raised advances
the status of women worldwide. Plus, the food at these events
is so good, we knew our Tums samples would come in handy for those
who may 'overdo it' at the event."
